Since many companies collect and process personal data with increasing speed, it has become particularly important to protect users against data abuse. At the same time, users should still be able to reap the benefits that data processing provides. This means protecting their privacy while enabling them to make well-founded activity and confidentiality decisions.
Due to the interdisciplinary and intersectoral aspects of the matter, the innovative Privacy & Usability network has engaged thirteen creative, brilliant, young researchers, to discuss, provide, and develop innovative privacy protection solutions. The junior researchers are being trained to meet present and future privacy and usability challenges alike. The Privacy & Usability project combines both research and transferable skills. This also greatly increases the young scientists‘ academic and non-academic career opportunities.
The junior researchers are provided a comprehensive education and take an active part in interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaborations. This common objective greatly boosts and has a significant impact on their careers. At the same time, it contributes to the creation of future European data protection directives and applications while decisively promoting privacy and usability research.
